Matt Austin is Stepping Down as Artistic Director
It’s with immense gratitude that we say a sad farewell to our Artistic Director Matt Austin who is stepping down from the Board at the end of this year.
Matt was tasked with overseeing our post-pandemic return in 2021 and 2022’s full season. It would be an understatement to say that these have been a roaring success! On top of this, Matt’s enthusiasm, deep knowledge of theatre and extensive local connections have been a great asset to the organization.
Steve Stott, President of the Sherman Players says “I couldn’t be more grateful to Matt for all his hard work and support during his time on the Board. I wish him great success as he moves on to the next exciting phase of life.”
In addition to helping run the Players, Matt has directed, produced and acted in our shows – most recently producing and appearing as Uncle Billy (and others) in It’s a Wonderful Life. We’re sure we’ll be welcoming him back to the Playhouse in some capacity in the future!
Thank You Matt.
